The Remarkable Evolution of Şahsa: From a Modest Workshop to a Global Force in Fashion. In the 1940s, Sadık Şahin—son of a humble barber who emigrated from Bulgaria to Turkey—began his professional life as a “Devere Ustası” (warping craftsman). Motivated by a passion for textiles, Sadık ventured into lining and coat fabric production in 1970, paving the way for what would eventually become one of the industry’s respected names. By the 1990s, Şahsa’s production capacity reached 200 machines, underlining its growing influence in the textile world. A defining milestone occurred in 2000 with the establishment of the company as a limited corporation, led by second-generation partners Sabit Şahin and Ahmet Şahin. Their forward-looking approach propelled Şahsa to expand beyond textiles into new, exciting opportunities. From 2000 to 2009, Şahsa specialized in jacquard curtain fabrics. Yet 2009 marked a bold shift toward women’s fashion, positioning Şahsa as more than just a fabric producer. By 2015, the company took a leap into haute couture, a move that introduced its luxurious craftsmanship to new international markets. By 2020, Şahsa was serving 700 designers across 72 countries, garnering recognition for both its exquisite haute couture pieces and commitment to sustainability. Today, Şahsa continues to uphold the legacy of its founder while representing the future of fashion—combining innovation with respect for heritage, and always striving to meet the evolving needs of the global fashion community.
